The Black Youth Leadership Academy (BYLA) is a transformative program created to empower, equip, and inspire the next generation of Black leaders. Rooted in the belief that leadership starts with self-awareness and grows through service, BYLA provides young people with the tools, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive as change-makers in their communities and beyond.

What the Academy Explores

Through interactive workshops, leadership training, and cultural enrichment, participants dive into core topics such as:

  • Identity & Confidence-Building: Developing pride in their heritage and strength in their voice.

  • Leadership Skills: Learning communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making.

  • Civic Engagement: Understanding how to advocate for justice, equity, and positive change.

  • Career & Academic Readiness: Gaining mentorship, networking, and practical skills for future success.
